Minister of Health Announces ‘Red Zone’ Restrictions due to COVID-19

NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM “If the regions of Kazakhstan enter the ‘red zone’ as the maximum threat of COVID-19, restrictions will be imposed in two stages,” Health Minister Azhar Giniyat told the government assembly in Nur-Sultan, reports Kazinform.

The first step will be taken if hospitalizations range from 25 to 50 consistent with 100,000 inhabitants and if the R value is greater than one. The face mask will be mandatory indoors, in addition to public transport. No restrictions will be imposed on business or in accordance with the rules.

The stage at the moment, despite the R value and hospitalizations above 50 consistent with 100,000 inhabitants, will apply Ashyq’s enforcement mandate. Additional restrictions will be imposed on educational institutions, 30% of workers will be transferred to remote work.

The minister recalled that the restrictions will have the adhesion of the public and companies to the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
