Environment Minister Duarte Cordeiro did not accompany the Portuguese prime minister to COP27 in Egypt because he tested positive for covid-19. As the country’s media point out, there is no longer a rule requiring other people to “isolate” themselves if they are infected. But Cordeiro made the decision to “work from home” and fly to Egypt to form Portugal towards the end of the event. COP27 will run until November 18.
