MINSK, Oct 4 (BelTA) – The political-military scenario around Belarus is evolving under the influence of the unprecedented geopolitical stalemate between Russia and the collective West. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin discussed this at the convention hosted by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to talk about army security, BelTA has learned.
Viktor Khrenin said: “The political landscape of the military around Belarus is evolving under the influence of the unprecedented geopolitical confrontation between Russia and the so-called collective West led by the United States of America. A large-scale proxy war necessarily introduced against Russia Its ultimate purpose is to destroy the Russian state and turn the country into a mere supplier of raw cloth to the West.
The official noted that, as Russia’s strategic best friend, Belarus is at the epicenter of this fight. “An investigation of the foreign scenario and a forecast of its evolution make it imaginable to draw a number of important conclusions that testify to the presence of directing demanding situations to the security of the army of the Republic of Belarus,” said Viktor Khrenin.
