Michigan Department of Health Falsely Claims COVID Vaccines Prevent Transmission

Rochelle Walensky, director of the U. S. Centers for Disease Control and PreventionThe U. S. Food and Drug Administration announced in January that COVID-19 vaccines do not prevent or contract transmission of the virus.

At a hearing in the European Parliament this month, Janine Small, Pfizer’s president of overseas developed markets, admitted that the drugmaker did not know or verify whether its COVID-19 vaccine prevented transmission before allowing the general public to vaccinate it.

The public cadre has moved away from the demand for transmission. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services did not. Why not?

The state has spent $62. 6 million in state and federal taxpayer dollars advertising the COVID-19 vaccine through February 2022 and another $15 million is expected to be spent through the end of the first quarter of 2022, according to MLive. The Department of Michigan Health and Human Services has produced classified television, social media and radio ads urging Michiganders to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of the disease.

Although the admission that vaccines don’t save you from transmission was made months ago, MDHHS continues to promote claims on its website.

The document, Spread Hope Not COVID, on its online page says: “Having a COVID-19 vaccine available for children will help reduce the risk of outbreaks in schools, daycare centers and camps and, in turn, further protect our communities.

On the state’s Michigan Protection Commission page, it says, “The commission will address the health and safety of Michigan citizens by educating communities about the efficacy of a legal COVID-19 vaccine in eliminating the spread of the coronavirus. “

In the past, the state had provided regular updates on the number of others who tested positive, died or were hospitalized based on vaccination status.

This practice, which began in March 2021, ended on April 8, 2022. The branch noted that data was no longer collected at the state level. However, one of the most recent updates on COVID-19 awareness shared with the public showed that 58% of COVID-19 deaths in Michigan were among vaccinated.

The MDDHHS responded to a request for comment.
