MEXICO CITY (AP) – Mexican officials on Thursday minimized the rate of infections and coronavirus deaths among the country’s medical staff, and this week’s reports that Mexico had the rate in the world seem to be contesting.
The Department of Health reported that 1,410 doctors, nurses and other hospital staff had died as a result of COVIED-19, while a total of 104590 doctors had tested positive for coronavirus.
Infections among fitness personnel accounted for about 17% of Mexico’s 616,900 cases of coronavirus, although these staff make up only about 1% of the population. Deaths in the sector accounted for only about 2% of total deaths in Mexico, and the government reported that the fact that fitness care personnel died less than other serious cases showed that they were not affected by the pandemic.
The argument seemed to be forgotten that physical care staff are sometimes younger than other serious cases (almost part of those who are seriously ill with COVID-19 are over retirement age) and that they will most likely have greater medical knowledge and access to care that has a tendency to their chances of survival.
Only others with severe symptoms are tested in Mexico: 99% of Mexicans have never had a coronavirus test, leading observers to conclude that the country’s infections are greatly underestimated.
The government has said that to date only about 283,000 doctors have been tested, equivalent to one-third or a quarter of the country’s fitness staff, as defined. There are around 650,000 public fitness personnel in Mexico and almost the same number many in the personal fitness care sector.
The Ministry of Health said that up to 12.3% of the number one medical care corps of workers in PATIENTS with COVID-19 were infected, compared to a shown infection rate of only about 0.5% for the general population.
The government sought to deflect the complaint that medical personnel did not have a good enough protective device by claiming that staff who had been laid off from government hospitals for the pandemic were inflamed only at slightly lower rates than those who remained in service.leave they had jobs outdoors, probably in other fitness facilities, and many took time off because their age or underlying fitness disorders made them more vulnerable to severe symptoms of COVID-19 in case of infection.
Health professionals organized protests against the lack of good enough non-public protective equipment, and at the beginning of the pandemic, there were at least two outbreaks in hospitals that sickened dozens of fitness professionals.
The government has claimed since March that hospital staff have all the protective equipment they need, however, at various events, hospital staff have blocked the streets in Mexico City by publishing what they say are poorly equipped, inadequate or deficient.
In a report released Wednesday, Amnesty International said Mexico is the world leader in coronavirus deaths among its fitness workers, beating the US with 1077, the United Kingdom with 649 and Brazil with 634 and said nurses accounted for 42% of those infected., doctors accounted for 27% and other hospital workers such as technicians, assistants and maintenance and cleaning staff 31%.
Death statistics vary depending on who ranks each country as a fitness worker, how deaths are confirmed, and how they are reported.
The Pan American Health Organization, for example, reported 2506 COVID-19 deaths among all fitness personnel in the Americas, and gave the same figures for Mexico as Amnesty, but recorded 240 deaths in Brazil and 660 in the United States.
