Mercantile Center COVID-19 testing will close on March 30

WORCESTER — UMass Memorial Health announced Tuesday that it ended COVID-19 testing at the Mercantile Center on Front Street due to a drop in the call for testing.

The official closing is Thursday, March 30.

According to UMass Memorial, the state Department of Public Health is definitive on all Stop the Spread sites, adding the one on Front Street.

People who want to get tested for COVID-19 after March 30 can find places to get tested on the mass. gov website.

Worcester’s most recent weekly COVID-19 report released last Friday showed 110 new COVID-19 cases in the city, compared to last week. To date, there have been 66,938 overall cases of COVID-19 in Worcester and 576 deaths.

According to the report, about 66 percent of city dwellers have the initial two-dose vaccination and 56 percent have those inoculations, plus at least one booster.
