A user most recently at Timbers Elementary School on August 6 tested positive, according to Jamie Mount, director of communications at Humble ISD. Another Timbers Elementary user known as close contact through the school district and notified. They will have to paint from home for 14 days following AME guidelines.

Timbers Elementary School is one of the district’s schools that has disinfectant UV lamps installed in the filtration system, a recent update made to facilitate the disinfection procedure. Humble ISD is in the process of offering MERV thirteen air filters to campus according to Mount, which are the new filters capable of capturing smaller particles.

In addition, one person tested positive for COVID-19, which was the last on the Maplebrook Elementary School campus on August 11, according to Mount. No one thought of such a close contact and all dressed in masks, according to their email.

The parents were not informed because there were no students on campus. Areas that have been widely used by others who tested positive have been closed for thorough cleaning and disinfection, in accordance with AME guidelines. The user must remain off-campus until the reintegration criteria are met, including at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms, at least 24 hours from recovery and a significant improvement in symptoms.

“The District informs those on campus and the Department of Health of positive cases when they occur,” Mount said in the statement. “Our proactive procedures include mandatory notification of the effects or symptoms of positive controls, loose controls for employees, physical distance, fulfillment of the governor’s order on masks, and common hand washing.”

Humble ISD schools welcomed self-employed students with special desires on August 17 and will reopen for in-person learning starting Monday, August 24. Teachers began education on August 3 and virtual schooling began on August 11.
