Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker issued a one-night house stay order, among other new orders, in reaction to a recent buildup of COVID-19 cases in the state.
The new realization of the house asks citizens to stay in the house between 10 p. m. M. Y. 5 a. m. , however, activities such as going to work, buying critical foods such as buying groceries and gathering desires for fitness and walking are allowed. until 9:30 p. m.
Other executive orders come with a stricter state-wide mask ordinance and restrictions on meetings in personal residences. All orders will take effect on Friday.
In addition, the limit for meetings in personal apartments will be reduced from 25 to 10, and the limit for occasions will be reduced from 50 to 25. The order requires rally organizers to report known positive cases of COVID-19 to local health. community branch and obliges the organizers to cooperate with the search for contacts.
Anyone found not to be compliant with local regulations and the police may be fined up to $500 for each user who exceeds the limit at a specific meeting.
The state joins other parts of the country and around the world to respond to an increase in cases. The initial reaction to the Massachusetts pandemic, considered one of the most productive in the country, however, the daily number of cases is similar to that experienced by the state in mid-May. Last week, the seven-day average for new cases increased by nearly 339% since early September, according to an ABC News investigation of state data.
The state issued a mask arrest warrant in early May, which required masking to be used in public places whenever social estating is not possible. However, in the changed order, the mask will be required in any public space, indoors or outdoors, regardless of the ability for social estating.
New orders arrive a day after Massachusetts recorded its ninth consecutive day of more than 1,000 new instances. During the following month, new instances are more than 135%.
