OVERLAND PARK, KS – The Heart of America Athletic Conference has announced its all-conference picks in the North Division for the 2023 football season. While Grand View University made the wisest decisions by winning six of the eight primary honors, a young man from the state of Peru took the team.
Defensive back Duke McClinton threw six interceptions this season for the Bobcats and six assists, earning him a percentage of the Freshman of the Year award. McClinton also forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble. He finished the season with a total of 43 tackles, which ranks fourth on the team.
The Bobcats have helped many players earn all-conference honors. First-team popularity went to Keyon Henry-Brooks (running back), Jordan Kempf (wide receiver), Devin Adams (defensive line) and Duke McClinton (defensive back). Buddy Belcher (tight end), Kile Bentley (linebacker), Ashley Thompson (defensive back) and Jordan Kempf (kickbacker) all moved up the second-team roster. Finally, Ahmad Baker (offensive line), Kaleb Herbel (wide receiver) and Zahir “Ziggy” Washington (defensive line) are on the honorable mention list.
