Manitoba’s public fitness said there were 42 new cases of coronavirus known Saturday morning, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases in the province to 872.
Saturday marks the number of cases reported on a single day since the start of the pandemic.
The existing five-day COVID-19 positivity rate is 1.8%.
The data were: • 24 new instances in the Prairie Mountain fitness region • 16 new instances in Southern Health-Santé Sud • two new instances in the Winnipeg fitness region
According to Manitoba public fitness officials, six others have recently been hospitalized and one of them is in intensive care.
There are 290 known active cases in Manitoba, while another 570 people have recovered.
The total number of deaths in the province by COVID-19 remains 12.
As of Monday, the Prairie Mountain Health Region was increased to Restricted (Orange).
This means that masks will be mandatory in all public places indoors and in all public and indoor meetings in the region.Public meetings will also be limited to 10 people, either indoors and in s.
Manitobaans in this region are encouraged to take those extra precautions to help slow the spread of this virus.
Test figures show that another 1,849 lab tests were carried out on Friday, bringing the total number of tests completed since early February to 124,140.
The province is also reminding others to focus on the basics to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.This means not going out while feeling sick, practicing smart hand hygiene, coughing and physically walking away when you’re with other people outdoors at home.If you can’t physically escape, wear a mask.
A new test of the COVID-19 network will open Tuesday at 2735 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg.
It will be open to the public walk-ins from 9 a.m. at four p.m., seven days a week.
Access Fort Garry (135 Plaza Drive) will no longer offer COVID-1nine testing once the new one opens. His last day of public testing will be Monday from 9 a.m. at 4 p.m.
