The government on Monday removed the requirement to fill out the Air Suvidha form for other people traveling to India from foreign countries amid a decline in the number of coronavirus cases.
The requirement to submit a negative RT-PCR report or the main points of the number one vaccination schedule for foreign arrivals was also removed.
The revised for foreign arrivals will take effect Nov. 22, according to the union’s Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Previously, the rules required passengers arriving in India to be shaped like the full Air Suvida. The form was brought as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Last week, the Civil Aviation Ministry said mask wearing is not mandatory when traveling by air but that passengers wear them preferably.
According to MoHFW’s most recent guidelines, air travelers must be fully vaccinated according to their country’s number one COVID-19 vaccination schedule.
The latest rules update rules issued in September, which required others arriving from foreign countries to submit the Air Suvidha form.
They were also required to provide “main points of the negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report (verification was performed within 72 hours prior to embarking on travel) or present the main points of the planned COVID-19 vaccination completed number one vaccination,” according to the previous guidelines.
Only children under the age of five were exempt from pre- and post-arrival testing, he said.
On Monday, MOHFW said that, upon arrival, passengers will ensure that physical distancing and thermal control of all arriving foreign passengers is carried out through the fitness officers provided at the port of entry.
“Passengers deemed symptomatic deserve to be isolated without delay, taken to a designated medical facility in accordance with fitness protocol,” he said.
In addition, the ministry said that all travelers self-monitor their fitness after arrival. They will have to report to their “nearest gym or call the national helpline (1075)/state helpline number in case they experience suggestive symptoms,” he added. .
According to the ministry, those rules are being revised in light of the trajectory of continuous decline of COVID-19 and the progress made in COVID-19 vaccination policy, both globally and in India.
During air travel, the ministry said in-flight announcements related to the ongoing pandemic, adding precautionary measures to follow, such as preferable mask wearing and physical distancing, will be made on flights/trips at all ports of entry.
Any passengers with coronavirus symptoms traveling will have to be remote according to popular protocol, he added.
As a result of the pandemic, scheduled domestic flights were suspended for two months starting March 25, 2020. Scheduled foreign flights that were also suspended on the same day, were only restored as of March 27 this year.
