United have a very long track record, with 20 league titles, 12 FA Cups, six League Cups and 21 Community Shields. He has won 3 European Cups/Champions League, as well as a Europa League, a Cup Winners’ Cup, a Super Cup. , an Intercontinental Cup and a Club World Cup.  

Being one of the most successful clubs in global race rivalries, and United is no exception. Heated competitions with Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Leeds are annual occasions on the season programme.

In 1958, tragedy struck the club when another 23 people died, in addition to 8 United players, in what later became known as the Munich air disaster. United were returning from a European Cup match in Belgrade when their plane crashed while trying to take off from a typhoon in Munich.  

The list of legends who have played for Manchester United is long. As of today, there is no shortage of well-known names in world football who have worn the famous red shirt. George Best, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Bobby Charlton, David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona are just a few of the icons who have led the club to glory.  

As an aside, we can’t talk about United without also mentioning Sir Alex Ferguson. The Scottish manager controlled United from 1986 to 2013 and has more trophies than any other manager in football history.
