Malaysia reports new COVID-19 on shipment that had travelled from Singapore

Malaysia’s Ministry of Health on Monday (31 August) reported on a new COVID-19 organization involving 4 team members from a shipment that had travelled from Singapore.

The four team members served in a shipment that stopped at port of Port Dickson, said Negeri Sembilan, Director General of Health, Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a Facebook post.

The shipment had a “travel history from (the) port of Singapore,” Dr. Noor Hisham added.

“A total of 34 team members on board were tested on August 28 for the signature and signature of the ship, and of these, 4 cases and six negatives were detected, and another 24 were waiting for the results,” he said in a statement. .

The 4 cases shown come with two Malays and two non-citizens. All 4 cases were asymptomatic and quarantined first at a hotel in Selangor, Dr. Noor Hisham said.

They were admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor after being positive for coronavirus.

As the cases shown were an imported “isolated” organization on a ship, there was no threat of infection in the community, Dr. Noor Hisham said.

“Measures and infection prevention, such as disinfection and sanitation, have been taken on board, and the cause of the infection is still under investigation,” he said.

Malaysia reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 9,340.

Another COVID-19-related death was also reported: a 62-year-old Malasio with a history of diabetes and high blood pressure, and in total, another 127 people died as a result of COVID-19.
