The total number of Covid-19 instances in Aurangabad district is 57,755, 5,569 active instances, as of Friday.
The district administration had announced in the past that monuments in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad district would remain closed until April 4, due to the pandemic situation.
Aurangabad is home to World Heritage sites in the Ajanta and Ellora caves, as well as monuments such as Bibi Ka Maqbara and Daultabad Fort (Devgiri).
However, hikers and tour guides were delighted with the measure.
Sanjeev Sethi (48), a tourist who has traveled to Aurangabad from Noida, said: “I drove about 1,290 km from Noida and suddenly told him that the monuments are now closed. “
Tourists have been informed of the resolution in advance, he added.
Rahul Nikam, president of the Ajanta Guides Association, said the monuments had been reopened after a long closure and that the business had still resumed.
“There are no more than 40 visitors each day and a smart social distance is respected. Management reverses the decision,” he said.
