The new cases represented a nearly 55% jump from the previous day in the state. As of Tuesday, Maharashtra had recorded 836 cases and two deaths.

Mumbai added 975 new coronavirus cases, the highest number since July 1 and a jump of 643 from the one-day count, while two other patients succumbed to the infection in the metropolis, the city’s civic framework said.
The city reported one-day cases since July 1, when it detected 978 new COVID-19 patients. According to the bulletin, the new COVID-19 cases were detected after 8,173 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, bringing their cumulative number to 1,79,69,117.
On Tuesday, 3,499 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the monetary capital.
The number of instances recovered in Mumbai rose to 11,09,617 after another 850 patients recovered from the infection, the BMC said.
The city has a coronavirus recovery rate of 97. 8% and is now unearthed with 5,194 active COVID-19 cases, according to the bulletin.
Of the 975 new COVID-19 cases, 59 patients were symptomatic, he added.
