Grilling: The menu will be immersed in original Armenian cuisine
Ayfair’s first Armenian eater will open later this month, with a menu prepared by a two-Michelin-starred chef.
Lusin, which takes its name from the Armenian word for “moon,” is the latest expansion of a restaurant chain that already has outposts in the Saudi cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar.
Marcel Ravin, the mastermind behind the prominent Monegasque restaurant The Blue Bay, has envisioned a culinary offering that will pay homage to Armenian cuisine. Diversity of dishes from the outstanding Cherry Kebab: highly spiced kebab skewers, cooked over charcoal and then covered with homemade sauce. cherry sauce, with fruits picked in Armenia – a Signature Lusin Kibbeh: mixed meat, bulgur and walnuts, seasoned with Armenian spices and pomegranate molasses. Dishes will be cooked by in-house chefs in addition to Ravin.
Elsewhere, the Lusin salad will come with grated cheese and baked smoked eggplant, while the drinks menu will include Armenian wines, as well as a variety of cocktails selected by Giancarlo Mancino, Rosewood Hotels’ beverage representative and bar.
The dining place itself will accommodate one hundred visitors on two floors, with stone walls originating from the mountains of Armenia.
Lusin arrives in London with plenty of weight, having in the past hosted members of the Saudi royal circle of relatives and government officials at its existing facility, as well as the late Kofi Annan, the former secretary-general of the United Nations.
