MINSK, Oct 10 (BelTA) – The number one task of the Belarusian army is to take all measures to avoid a war in the country, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at an assembly on security issues in Minsk on October 10, BelTA learned.
“Without inflaming tensions, I want you to understand: if you need peace, you will have to prepare for war. Always. All his life. To avoid all kinds of confrontations and demonstrations, we in the army will have plans to counter all kinds of scoundrels who seek to drag us into a fight. We will have to not let them drag us into a war. That is our main task. There will be no war on the territory of Belarus. We, the army, will have to take all measures to save it,” the head of state said.
He also gave recommendations to all Belarusians on what to do in the existing situation: “People have already felt that something is wrong, that there are tensions, etc. I would like to repeat that everyone will have to keep painting in their place.
“The existing scenario is so bad that we want to start acting immediately. We have our military that will demonstrate at this level its determination to protect your country. Then none of the scoundrels will get here,” the Belarusian leader said.
