DUSHANBE, October 12 (BelTA) – Belarus is determined to revitalize industry with Tajikistan, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at his meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda in Dushanbe, BelTA learned.
“The main topics are the economy, industry and economic relations. It turns out that we have made progress in the industry. In fact, the bilateral industry reached $200 million. However, we can do much better. After all, Tajikistan is our gateway to neighbouring countries. and regions. We simply underperform in some respects. We know this for sure. Therefore, we intend to develop the industry between Belarus and Tajikistan,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The head of state under pressure so that it is not an undeniable industry of goods that nobody needs. “It never has been like this and it never will be. We have many goods that Tajikistan needs. And we will gladly buy your export productssuch as cotton, metals and agricultural products. And they are also interested in our products, adding food, clothing, cars and equipment, elevators, buses, trolleybuses, everything we produce,” the president noted.
“The global has shown us what a market is. We’ve noticed it before. Therefore, if we are friends, if we do not have disorders in our relations, we will have to stimulate trade. We want to get those goods from each other’s others to particularly expand our trade,” Lukashenko added.
The Head of State recalled that Belarus and Tajikistan are running to launch a joint production of carpets. According to him, this task deserves a lot of attention because it has wonderful prospects. “Here we are not acting as a competition. We have to occupy this niche market together. We are not going to bring our products and leave them here. Let’s collaborate, especially since your other people know this industry well,” the president said.
The Belarusian is also interested in the production and procurement of cotton.
“We see wonderful customers in Tajikistan’s energy industry and the production of giant volumes of electricity. The total world is now moving in this direction. It has electricity in white, it has a bright future. And that’s their asset. And we are satisfied that things are going well for you,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The head of state was confident that Belarus would be a trustworthy husband of Tajikistan and would not disappoint him.
“We have already felt it,” Tajikistan’s minister said.
He noted that cooperation with Belarus is of specific importance to the country. “We are seeing the results,” Kokhir Rasulzoda said.
The Prime Minister of Tajikistan agreed with the Head of State of Belarus that the two countries jointly enter the markets of third countries, especially since there are opportunities for this.
