Ramón Ramírez Lucas was a “brilliant mind” who worked hard for his extended family.
“It was fun, a lot of fun, he made a lot of jokes,” said his daughter, Beatriz Ramirez. “He was kind, he had a willing and positive mind.
The Passaic resident spent long hours as a painter on large-scale structure projects, adding apartment complexes, in the metropolitan area, but took the time to communicate to his youth about the option of forging a better life.
“We’ve had our little arguments, ” said Ramirez. ” He was talking about how hard he worked and how hard my mom worked to give us everything we needed. And he emphasized the importance of receiving our education.
“For me, in particular, since I’m his biological daughter, he would tell me I’m independent,” he said.
“There will come a time when you will meet someone, they will get together, but I never need you to count on anyone but yourself,” he told her.
Lucas died on April 28. He was 39.
He has never forgotten his local Mexico, which he left more than 20 years ago.
“If a song came along, he would sing a strong component on the bow to make us laugh,” Ramírez said. “He was from Mexico, so he liked band and ranchera music. “

Lucas said, the anchor of the family circle after the death of his mother, Margot Cinto, last year. The family circle included Beatrice and her 3 younger siblings, whose parents are Cinto and Lucas, as well as five older siblings her mother had before she met Lucas.
“It was complicated because my mom passed away almost a year ago and now we don’t have a parent,” Ramirez said. “When Mom died, he was still there.
