Most students have been out of school and learning online since last March due to the coronavirus and it’s tricky to find a way to send them back to class.
Educators and first responders are among the Los Angeles staff teams now accepted to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, county officials announced Monday. This is part of an effort to expand vaccinations for essential staff in the county. And child care sectors are also among those now eligible, county officials said.
A vaccine was opened in Inglewood on Monday to accommodate teachers and other school staff. The broader vaccination effort comes as California Gov. Gavin Newsom and legislative leaders announced an agreement Monday to bring students back to study halls in the nation’s most populous state. They’ve been out of school and learning online since last March due to the coronavirus and it’s tricky to find a way to send them back to class.
