(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, April 23, 2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Logicor, Europe’s leading logistics property owner, manager and developer, has completed the installation of a photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Palol de Revardit, near Girona.
The warehouse, located on an independent plot of approximately thirteen,300 m², has direct access to the AP-7 motorway, thirteen kilometres from Girona and only 30 kilometres from the French border.
The 532 kWp photovoltaic formula will supply energy to the 6,600 m² warehouse, with an estimated annual production of 636 kWh.
CO2 emissions from the logistics site will be reduced in tonnes per year.
The PV plant is expected to provide Cronofrio SA with an effective solution to mitigate the significant prices and electrical energy consumption of its temperature-controlled operations in the food sector.
As part of our effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we are expanding the use of solar panels in our park. The advancement of the Palol photovoltaic plant in Revardit is our strategy in action: we are on track to save more than 180 tonnes of carbon and they are helping Cronofrio SA in its PTO as well.
Pilar Valencia, Country Manager of Logicor for Spain
In 2020, Logicor established a five-year ESG roadmap for the positive adjustments that were implemented. The company reports on published science-based targets in 2022 and, as of December 2023, reduced GHG emissions per square meter by 20%.
