Liz Truss, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, resigns after 6 weeks

After only 6 weeks in office, Liz Truss, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, resigned. Truss became prime minister after Boris Johnson’s resignation. His brief tenure was rocked by controversy over tax cuts and currency turmoil, as the pound fell to its lowest price against the U. S. dollar in nearly 40 years.
