WASHINGTON – Republicans defended President Donald Trump’s reaction to the coronavirus pandemic and criticized Joe Biden monday on the first night of a positive Republican conference that led to a grim assessment of the Democratic Party.
“The total of Joe Biden’s economic platform is designed to overwhelm the corridor and woguy,” Donald Trump Jr. said in statements that he also called former Vice President “Beijing Biden” and the swamp’s “Loch Ness Monster.” Trump says he needs to empty.

Scott did not mention the police shooting of Jacob Blake on Sunday, an incident that was repeated several times on cable news networks in the hours leading up to the convention. However, he has appointed several other African-Americans killed by the police.
“From a global pandemic to the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, 2020 tested our country at a level we hadn’t noticed in decades,” Scott said.
Legislation to reform the police failed in June. Scott blamed Democrats for the fall of that effort, though Democrats said the bill passed through the GOP-controlled Senate did not pass far enough.
