TICKET SALES for live music events in Spain this year soared by 48% compared to 2022, despite the state of the economy.
The survey by the “IV Live Music Observatory” found that transactions were even higher than before the Covid pandemic in 2020.
The average value of tickets last year ranged between 80 and 58 euros.
Around 19% came from Andalusia, 17% from the Community of Madrid and 16% from Catalonia.
This fact is unexpected as they are the 3 largest regions of the country in terms of population and also attract foreign artists who perform in the most important venues in Spain.
The music fans were said to be in the 35 to 44 age range and plumped for pop concerts.
Ticket purchases also increased by 45% among 18- to 24-year-olds, thanks to the government’s cultural voucher program that allows holders to download concert tickets at low prices.
The report also indicates that 10% of concert attendance came from across Europe, of which the UK accounted for 16%, as well as France.
The Czech Republic ranks first with 11%, followed by Italy with 9%.
About 70% of those who took part in the study also said they were looking for a secure “online” platform to change tickets if they couldn’t attend a concert.
