All passengers on a flight from Tui to Cardiff from the Greek island of Zakynthos were asked to isolate themselves after at least seven other people on board the plane tested positive for Covid-19.
Dr Giri Shankar of Public Health Wales said: “Cardiff and Vale Test Trace Protect and Public Health Wales have known at least seven cases of Covid-19 in 3 other portions that were infectious on flight Tui 6215 from Zante to Cardiff on 25 August.
“As a result, we recommend that all passengers on this flight be considered close contacts and will have to isolate themselves.
“These passengers will be contacted shortly, but in the meantime, they want to isolate themselves at home, as they can be contagious, even without symptoms.Anyone with symptoms deserves to book an electronic check without delay.”
He added: “Our research on a number of coronavirus cases has indicated that a lack of social estrangement, from a minority of 20 to 30 years, has led to the spread of the virus to other teams of people.
“I appeal directly to other young people that even if they feel that they would not be seriously affected by Covid-19 if they had a positive result, if they passed it on to a circle of older or more vulnerable relatives, friends or colleagues, it can be incredibly serious or even fatal.

Scientists have discovered a new strain of coronavirus in Indonesia as cases in the country increase.

“It is estimated that up to 3,000 more people at the rally have travelled from all over the UK and we are reviewing the entire law to find out what moves can be taken safely.
“Illegally parked cars will be treated and other people who continue, despite our advice, checking out to attend this area of illegal occasions will be rejected.”
