Pennsylvania reported 16,909 new coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, down 7. 4 from last week. Last week there were 18,264 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Pennsylvania ranked 24th among the states where the coronavirus spread the fastest, according to a study by Johns Hopkins University’s USA TODAY data network. Over the past week, coronavirus cases in the United States have declined 4. 7% from Beyond the Week, with 507,209 cases reported. With 3. 85 percent of the nation’s population, Pennsylvania recorded 3. 33 percent of the nation’s cases last week. Across the country, 3 states have had more cases in the past week than in the past week.

The Labor Day holiday would possibly have replaced the number of other people who can get tested and when, and when governments report the effects of testing and deaths. This will distort comparisons from week to week.

In Pennsylvania, the worst weekly outbreaks per user occurred in Greene County with 270 cases per 100,000 per week; the county of Cambria with 257; and Center County with 243. The Centers for Disease Control says the highest levels of network transmission start at 100 instances per 100,000 per week.

Allegheny County, with 1771 instances, added the maximum number of new instances overall; Philadelphia County, with 1459 instances; and York County, with 823. The number of weekly instances is higher in 23 counties than last week. The worst increases from last week’s speed occurred in Franklin, Center and Greene counties.

In Pennsylvania, another 115 people were reported to have died from COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. Last week, another 120 people died.

A total of another 3,202,811 people in Pennsylvania have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and another 46,831 people have died from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. In the United States, another 95,250,705 people tested positive and another 1,050,323 people died.
