Launch of this year’s first direct flight between Armenia and Tunisia | ARMENPRESS Armenian News Agency

EREVAN, JUNE 24, ARMENPRESS. Today marks this year’s first direct flight between Armenia and Tunisia. The flight is operated through the Tunisian airline Novelair, which entered the Armenian market in cooperation with the firm Anriva Tour.

This year’s first direct flight begins with a media excursion in which several journalists from the Armenian media, in addition to the state-owned news company ARMENPRESS, will have the opportunity to get acquainted with Tunisia’s tourism opportunities and provide them in detail.

Tunisia remains an unknown tourist destination for Armenians. There was no demand among Armenian tourists due to the lack of direct flights and tourist offers. Tunisia also requires a visa, and in the past, obtaining a visa was a complicated procedure as an Armenian. Citizens received a Tunisian visa from that country’s embassy in Moscow, Russia. But now all those disorders are solved if an Armenian tourist with stopover plans in Tunisia buys the packages presented through Anriva Tour, which are sold through all Armenian agencies. The visa is issued at the airport as in the case of Hurghada (Egypt). The duration of the flight to Tunisia is four hours. Flights from Yerevan will be operated once a week. This year’s last flight is scheduled for September 30.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Tunisia was an active tourist destination for many countries around the world. Tunisia receives several million tourists every year. The country stands out for its seaside resort, as well as for its cultural and ancient sites. Tourists stop here to enjoy the Tunisian beaches, get acquainted with the ancient and beautiful sites, go grocery shopping at the eastern market and also to be in the largest desert in the world – the Sahara. In fact, for Armenians, Tunisia can become a tourist destination of choice to Egypt.

What to keep in mind when traveling to Tunisia? At which tourist sites to stop in Tunisia? What are the local beaches? What facilities do the hotels offer? What can you buy in Tunisia? Answers to these and other questions will soon be available in our articles.
