LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / March 22, 2024 / Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) has contributed $500,000 through Sands Cares to the WASH Foundation, an evolution of the Clean the World Foundation, bringing the company’s overall contribution to the nonprofit to more than $5. 6 million since the partnership launched.
Sands Cares’ 2024 investment supports three priority areas: the annual build of Sands Cares Global Hygiene Kits, which will mark more than one million kits built through Sands team members since 2014; the Drop By Drop project, a program established through Sands with the WASH Foundation to address water control projects in the company’s regions; and investing in capacity development for the WASH Foundation to expand its hygiene education systems around the world.
After working with Clean the World to collect and recycle discarded hygiene products at the company’s resorts, Sands made its first donation to the base in 2014. Since that initial commitment through Sands Cares, the partnership has produced a number of impacts, firsts, and new systems over the years, as well as transforming the organization’s recycling center in Las Vegas into a full-fledged soap-making operation, expanding Clean the World’s operations in Asia, and launching Las Vegas’ first cellular shower unit for the homeless.
Through its partnership with Clean the World, Sands has diverted more than 618,000 pounds of waste from landfills since 2011. The company worked with the WASH Foundation to distribute 4. 1 million bars of soap to people in need. In the U. S. , Sands Cares has provided more than 62,000 showers to other homeless people.

Components of the Sands Cares 2024 Contribution
This year’s Sands Cares pledge supplies, covering an increased number of hygiene kits for others facing hardship and increased aid for water control and Foundation initiatives, accelerated aid for the WASH Foundation’s project to reshape the lives and health of others by selling access to white spaces. water, sanitation and hygiene for communities in need around the world.
Hygiene kits to meet challenges: Sands, one of the first corporations to identify a global kit production program with the WASH Foundation, has held such events in its regions around the world since 2014. During this period, the company’s team members have built 938,000 kits. and will increase annual production to 70,000 kits this year, bringing the cumulative total to more than one million kits. The WASH Foundation supplies these hygiene products to other people and communities facing difficult and crisis situations.
Water Management Grants: As part of the $500,000 grant, Sands increased its investment in the WASH Foundation for the Drop via Drop task to provide larger grants to the program’s two designated grantees in Macau and Singapore. This year’s recipients will be announced in the summer of 2024. The Drop via Drop allocation was established through Sands and the WASH Foundation in 2019 for cutting-edge water control tasks in Macau and Singapore through grants to local environmental champions who meet the goals of the water augmentation program. Capacity Building Support for the Foundation’s Mission: The third component of this year’s Sands Cares contribution is $100,000 for capacity building to help the WASH Foundation expand its reach, with a focus on hygiene systems and systems for schools. The base has established a hygiene programme for schools in Uganda and the Dominican Republic, which will serve as a model for other school-focused initiatives.
