Kuwaiti to make an appointment to get vaccinated against flu and pneumonia

KOWEIT, 20 October: The Ministry of Health is under pressure to want citizens to make appointments for the seasonal influenza and pneumonia vaccine, Al-Qabas reports, bringing up sources.

Sources revealed that the booking was made through the online page published on the ministry’s platforms, indicating that the barcode will be used to enter vaccination centers.

Sources said the ministry took action after noting that many of those who visited the centers last Thursday were not complying with fitness regulations. This adds to the difficulty of implementing the social estating policy; hence the threat of the spread of coronavirus, especially in the elderly, others with chronic diseases and pregnant women, added resources.

Sources showed the availability of 80,000 doses of influenza vaccine, of which 72,000 were distributed to preventive fitness centres. Sources reported that 70% of these doses were consumed; the remaining 8,000 are stored in medical deposits. Sources have revealed that the ministry expects more vaccines to be delivered in the near future.
