Cairo: Kuwait is on the verge of reducing the renewal of leadership positions, restricting it to 4 years, a local Kuwaiti reported.
Government positions held through ministerial undersecretaries, deputy undersecretaries and administrators will be renewed “within maximum limits,” Al Anba added, citing what he called well-informed sources.
“This trend will lead to new positions waiting to be filled in top ministries,” the resources said.
They added that the positions of senior officials whose legal mandates have expired will be reviewed after the formation of a new government in Kuwait.
“Some of the incumbents of those positions have served more than two consecutive terms. “
If the new plan is adopted, the term to occupy a management position would be up to 4 years, they added.
“The new government will seek to nominate a number of candidates for vacant leadership positions in other governing bodies. They have already been appointed to the vacant positions, but a resolution has not yet been made on them due to the resignation of the government,” the additional resources.
The Kuwaiti government resigned in April after more than a part of the 50-member parliament subsidized a non-cooperation movement that opposed it.
The resignation was accepted in May and the government asked to continue making its cadres on an interim basis.
