In Illinois, the worst weekly outbreaks per user occurred in Adams County with 429 cases per 100,000 per week; Sangamon County with 355; and Lawrence County with 344. The Centers for Disease Control says the highest levels of network transmission start at 100 instances per 100,000 per week.
Cook County, with 10,844 instances, added the maximum number of new instances overall; DuPage County, with 2168 instances; and Will County, with 1,637. The number of weekly instances is higher in 59 counties than last week. The worst increases from last week’s speed came in Cook, Will and DuPage counties.

Across Illinois, cases fell in 42 counties, with declines in Vermilion County, with 221 cases from 325 the previous week; mcLean County, with 406 out of 489 instances; and Morgan County, with 75 out of 158 cases.
In Illinois, another 91 people were reported to have died from COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. Last week, another hundred people died.
A total of another 3,435,405 people in Illinois have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and another 38,601 people have died from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
