Deputy Shlomo Karhi, who among the lawmakers who will be punished, hit Zohar, who is a close best friend of Netanyahu’s.
“Miki is acting in a false and manipulative way,” Karhi wrote on Twitter. “It divides, damages the Likud and the Prime Minister and will have to move from home now.
“He has failed many times in control of the coalition, adding up last week’s vote,” Karhi added.
Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen, among those punished, also shot Zohar.
“When a little one casts a giant shadow, it’s that the sun goes down. I hope you act to fulfill your project and unite the faction,” he wrote on Twitter.
Zohar subsidized criticism, saying he was doing his job to hold the coalition together. It also turns out to recognize Netanyahu’s role in the resolution to overthrow Shasha-Biton.
“In a joint consultation with the Prime Minister, it was to impose sanctions on anyone who violates [the coalition’s] camp precisely as each and every Israeli government has done in history. I’m sorry there are those who don’t know how to settle for complaints and have interaction in infighting,” Zohar wrote on Twitter.
He also beat Netanyahu.
“Without discipline, Likud cannot govern, especially the coronavirus crisis,” Netanyahu tweeted. “I ask all Likud members to show responsibility, pay attention to the faction’s disciple, and avoid unnecessary attacks within the faction.”
One of the Zohar ministers announced the sanctions to the Minister of Public Security, Amir Ohana, who resigned from the Knesset on Monday under the so-called Norwegian law that allows ministers to cede their seats so that some other member of his party could take up his seat in parliament. It is unclear whether Zohar can simply enforce the sanctions that oppose Ohana.
Following disciplinary action, Ynet’s online news page reported that 12 Likud deputies, a third of the party’s lawmakers in the Knesset, signed a request to dismiss Zohar as coalition president. Such a technique would require the participation of 19 Likud deputies.
Sanctions came immediately after several WIKUd disputes, a public dispute last week between the Zohar and Finance Minister Israel Katz.
