ASTANA. Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov has stated that Kazakhstan is expanding cooperation with CIS countries, Kazinform correspondent reports.
“Last year, the CIS celebrated its 30th anniversary. Today, the Commonwealth is entering a new level of development. In recent years, the organization has proven its relevance and has a solid foundation for friendly relations between our countries. Multifaceted cooperation is based on the principles of mutual trust, pragmatism and maintaining a balance of interests,” Smailov told the expanded assembly of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Astana.
In his words, such interaction is helping to decrease negative trends in the global economy and heralds the progression of a mutual partnership.
“Thanks to the measures taken within the Organization, many problems similar to education, health, social affairs and civil law have been effectively resolved. Our citizens benefit from visa-free travel between states. Kazakhstan, as one of the active participants of the CIS needs to expand cooperation, its perspective and lose its capabilities,” Alikhan Smailov added.
