NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM – Kazakhstan may face a shortage of dormitories as academics are expected to return to universities this year, Kazinform told the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Turzhanov told the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as governors and mayors, to draw up and approve a plan for the implementation of student residences, as well as to make adjustments to sanitary and epidemiological regulations in educational establishments until August 10.
Sayassat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, stressed the importance of applying the practice of running with dormitories and hotels (hostels) near universities.
The country plans to open 35 student residences for 10,000 locations in 2022. Between 2018 and 2021, a total of 124 facilities were commissioned for 30,630 sites.
