Kazakhstan to expand 15 new renewable energy projects by 2023

ASTANA. KAZINFORM “In 2023, Kazakhstan plans to expand 15 renewable energy projects with a capacity of 257 MW,” Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov announced at today’s conference.

This year, Kazakhstan completed 12 renewable energy projects with a capacity of 385 MW.

The minister added that electricity production in Kazakhstan in 2022 is expected to reach 112. 7 billion kwh or 98. 5% of the same was in 2021. By 2023, it is expected to generate 114. 9 billion kwh. It is expected to produce 4. 5 billion kWh of renewable energy, up 6. 6% from last year.

He said Kazakhstan has introduced 442 MW of new electric power this year.
