NUR-SULTAN – Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health reported pneumonia cases with clinical symptoms of COVID-19 on Sunday.
The ministry said that on 1 August Kazakhstan recorded 1226 new cases of COVID-19 and 5181 cases of pneumonia with symptoms of COVID-19 of unsofi specified etiology.
Meanwhile, there have been 36 coronavirus deaths and 30 pneumonia deaths in more than 24 hours.
The ministry noted that the publication of statistics would make the country make accurate predictions about the epidemiological situation, allocate resources and ensure some transparency in statistics.
“It underlines Kazakhstan’s openness to jointly address the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences for the foreign community,” the ministry added.
Kazakhstan has noticed a buildup of COVID-19 cases and pneumonia since June.Health Minister Aleksei Tsoi announced on 17 July that from 1 August pneumonia cases with clinical symptoms of COVID-19 would also be recorded daily.
On Sunday, Kazakhstan reported 91,593 coVID-19s, with 61,839 cures and 829 deaths.
