TEHRAN. KAZINFORM At the end of the closed-door meeting, the presidents of Kazakhstan and Iran, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ebrahim Raisi, held negotiations with the participation of delegations from the two countries, reports the Akorda press service.
The parties discussed in detail the status and clients for the progression of relations between Kazakhstan and Iran. Special attention was paid to strengthening industrial and economic cooperation in maritime transport and logistics, industry and agriculture, as well as to the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties.
Addressing the Iranian delegation, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Iran. In his words, the two countries established close bilateral contacts in this period.
“We have established a constructive political discussion about smart neighborliness and strong friendship. Both countries have shaped a strong contractual legal framework. More than 60 treaties have been signed. The Intergovernmental Economic Commission is actively working. We plan to create a joint chamber of commerce “Inter-parliamentary links have also been established. Our interregional cooperation is strengthening. We also gain advantages from close interaction within the framework of foreign organizations,” the Kazakh leader said.
Referring to customers for economic cooperation, the head of state stressed the importance of expanding the bilateral industry between Kazakhstan and Iran and highlighted a positive momentum in the turnover of uncooked fabrics in the first quarter of 2022.
In addition, the Kazakh president spoke about maritime transport and logistics, especially in the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway section. He also noted the export of caspian seaports, namely Aktau and Kuryk, Amirabad and Anzali.
Agriculture is one of the main spaces for cooperation in the interaction between the two countries. In this context, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised the activity of Iranian corporations in Kazakhstan that specialize in farm animal husbandry, meat processing, dairy production and rice cultivation. Kazakhstan also said it was in a position to expand the list of agricultural products for its source to Iran.
At the same time, the Head of State expressed his interest in the implementation of joint projects in the Gentile and agricultural sector.
Cultural interaction plays a special role in Kazakh-Iranian relations, he stressed. The Kazakh diaspora in Iran serves as a chain of liaison between the nations of the two countries. In this context, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the strengthening of cooperation in history studies and the exchange of ancient data.
In turn, Iran’s president said that the official scale of kassym-Jomart Tokayev in has a turning point in the progression of Kazakh-Iranian relations in the full diversity of bilateral cooperation.
“I hope that your will will give a strong impetus to the progress of industry and economic cooperation, adding the sectors of transit and transport, energy, agriculture and tourism,” Raisi said.
At the end of the Matrix, the Head of State invited the President of Iran to pay one to Kazakhstan.
After the talks, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ebrahim Raisi signed a joint declaration aimed at taking bilateral cooperation to a new level.

3. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade of the Republic of Iran on cooperation in analysis and exchange of experiences.
4. Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Iran on Cooperation to Increase Bilateral Trade.
5. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad of the Islamic Republic of Iran on cooperation in the field of agriculture.
6. MoU on Kazakh-Iranian cooperation in the agricultural industry and transit.
7. Memorandum of Mutual Understanding and Cooperation between JSC Khabar Agency and Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
