SYDNEY – A Kansas man was killed Aug. 7 when two collided east of Sydney around 1:10 p. m. of August 7.
Emergency workers were called to mile marker 63 on U. S. Highway 30 at 1:12 p. m. m. La road was closed in either direction from Link 17J in Sydney to County Road 125 until approximately 3:50 p. m. m.
Donald Sewell, 67, of Caney, Kansas, was riding a 1995 FLHTC Electra motorcycle eastbound on U. S. 30, east of Sydney, attempting to make a left turn at a historic marker near mile marker 63, while Bardin Kenneth Cade, 74, of Coffeyville. , Kansas, was riding a 2013 FLHRC Road King motorcycle.
Cade’s motorcycle collided with Sewell’s motorcycle on the corner. The two motorcyclists were ejected from their motorcycle. Both motorcycles were described as total.
According to the report of the twist of fate, no helmets were worn.
The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department, Morrill County Ambulance Service, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and the Nebraska Department of Transportation responded to the scene.
