Kano state said it had registered 12 new instances of COVID-19, according to the state ministry of fitness.
The ministry, its official Twitter ID @KNSMOH, revealed Saturday that 40,280 coronavirus sample tests had been conducted since the pandemic outbreak in the state.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that the state has noticed a drastic drop in the number of viral infections from more than 1,000 to less than 250 in the past two months.
However, the ministry had instances greater than 232, following confirmation of 12 new infections from the 180 samples analyzed on 22 August.
“Kano state (Saturday) showed 12 new instances of 180 effects gained from laboratories.
“The total number of samples is 40,280,” he says.
He added that the state had recorded a total of 1,704 cases of coronavirus, of which 232 were active cases, 1,418 were released and 54 deaths.
The ministry suggested that state citizens adhere to protocols for protection, non-public hygiene and the use of masks, hand washing and social estating to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
