Democrats are exploiting the coronavirus crisis in search of political gold. People are suffering and dying, and President Trump occupies the White House. It sounds cynical, but it is no less true that a tragedy can be a gift to an opposing party, especially in an election year.
Senator Kamala Harris knows and benefits. “This virus has affected almost every single country,” Harris said in his first official speech as Joe Biden’s running mate. “But there is an explanation for why it has affected america worse than any other complex country. It’s because Trump didn’t take it seriously.”
Trump has been cunning with the virus, suggesting more than once that it will simply disappear. This obviously doesn’t go away. At other times, it’s more serious, even too serious. However, states have led the reaction to federally funded coronavirus. Trump obviously bears responsibility, but not all, as Harris suggests.
Even with the disparate response, the United States has been more successful than other countries in some key parameters that are ignored. The maximum figures cited through the press are the existing figures for contagions and deaths. Currently, the United States has the highest numbers in the world in any of the categories, which is shocking. It is also one-dimensional, especially to measure how much the country has suffered compared to others.
According to existing data, the United States has fewer cumulative deaths consistent with COVID-19 consistent with a capita than Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy or Sweden. The number in the United States is only compatible with that of Brazil, and only exceeded that of France at the beginning of the month.
This metric does not recommend that the United States has been more affected than any other complex country, nor has the country’s cumulative mortality rate, which is the proportion of deaths shown and shown. The United States has a lower mortality rate than the above-mentioned countries, adding Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil, and Germany. It’s about the same as Austria’s.
Harris also sued Trump for the economy. “The president’s mismanagement of the pandemic has plunged us into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression,” Harris said. The U.S. economy struggled but actually behaved better than most European countries this quarter. The United States decreased by 9.5% during this period. Germany fell by 10.1% and Spain by 18.5%. France fell by 13.8% and Italy by 12.4%. The UK contracted by 20.4% at the time quarter.
