Joy for Bangladesh when the inspiring patron gets back in line

Shakib clinched the top spot thanks to a 3-run run against New Zealand and Pakistan, and the veteran scored for half a century in a row in Bangladesh’s last two matches.

That form allowed Shakib to overtake Afghan ace Mohammad Nabi to climb to the most sensible position in the overall standings ahead of Bangladesh’s W20 World Cup crusade in Australia.

Namibian star JJ Smit (four places in fourth place) and Zimbabwean veteran Sikandar Raza (four places in seventh) are making eye-catching moves on the full roster after an impressive debut in their T20 World Cup tournament, while the race for most sensitive hitter ratings seem to be one to watch in the coming weeks Down Under.

Pakistani starter Mohammad Rizwan (861 points) further extended his lead at the top of the T20I batting ratings after a consistent performance in the New Zealand tri-series, while Indian star Suryakumar Yadav (838) is still a moment ahead of the blockbuster. Clash between the two groups at the MCG on Sunday.

Rizwan captain Babar Azam (808) is third in T20I batting ratings and the trio looks set to fight for the most sensitive spot for the rest of the T20 World Cup.

The only move in the top 10 after the latest batting index update saw competitive New Zealand right-hander Glenn Phillips jump up an impressive thirteen spots to tie for No. 10 thanks to their strong three-series efforts against Bangladesh and Pakistan.

There was a small movement within the top 10 on the updated bowling list, with Mujeeb Your Rahman (moving up two spots to fifth) and his South African counterpart Keshav Maharaj (moving up one position to eighth) on the move.

Australian fashion designer Josh Hazlewood (705 points) maintains his lead at the top of the T20I bowling leaderboard, but Afghan tweaker Rashid Khan (696), Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga (692) and South African veteran Tabraiz Shamsi (688) are all within striking distance.
