Joint Statement on the Visit of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman to Bahrain

“At the invitation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman visited the Kingdom of Bahrain on 24 and 25 October 2022.

“In a fraternal atmosphere that epitomizes the intensity of prominent and long-standing relations between the two countries and peoples, official talks were held between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

“The two sides discussed the sound brotherly relations between the two countries, the bilateral cooperation spaces and tactics to expand and expand them for the purpose of their mutual goals and interests, as well as to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

“The two sides are under pressure on the importance of proceeding to expand joint cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic, industrial and investment fields, while continuing to diversify their collaboration in fields, and further expand and expand cooperation between the two countries’ personal sector. “Exchange industry delegations and expand the volume of the industry’s balance sheet to gain advantages from the two brotherly countries and peoples.

“In this context, the two sides commended the remarkable work of the Bahrain-Oman Joint Ministerial Committee in consolidating fraternal relations between the two countries, and its constructive role in promoting bilateral cooperation in fields of unusual interest, stressing the importance of strengthening and expanding their cooperation to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples.

“The two sides expressed pride in signing through the two countries a series of agreements, memoranda of understanding and executive systems in the fields, which would contribute to promoting joint cooperation towards the goals of the two countries and peoples and strengthening their long-standing relations.

“In line with the visions of the sensible leaders of the two countries to maximize the volume of investment and expand bilateral industry between the two brotherly countries, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry have signed an agreement for the status quo of Bahrain-Oman Investment Company, as an investment base and on which investors can depend on the fields to achieve greater partnerships and productive activities among personal sector institutions.

“The two sides discussed the path of the joint action of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the efforts of the GCC countries to consolidate the cooperation and joint integration of the GCC. Under pressure, they want to work for the team spirit of the GCC and affirm the unity of their countries and peoples to face all existing challenges. They also underline the importance of continuing efforts to realize the aspirations of Member States and their peoples towards greater solidarity, integration and joint action for the economic unity of the GCC. .

“Both sides look forward to the final outcome of the 31st Arab Summit to be held in Algeria in early November, which will promote joint Arab action, Arab national security and realize the aspirations of the Arab peoples for security, progress and prosperity.

“Both sides discussed the latest developments in the regional and foreign spheres, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in regional and foreign organizations and forums, in a way that serves their mutual interests and promotes efforts to consolidate regional security and stability. and foreign peace and security.

“The two sides expressed their willingness to promote efforts to consolidate the values of tolerance and non-violent coexistence among the countries of the world, and promote dialogue, understanding and cooperation in disputes by non-violent means, so as to achieve security, peace. and prosperity for the peoples of the world, in accordance with the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and foreign law.

“They are under pressure and want to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question that respects the valid rights of the Palestinian people, through a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on the basis of the two-state solution, foreign legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

“Both sides are also under pressure on the importance of continuing the United Nations’ efforts towards a lasting truce in the Republic of Yemen and towards a political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with agreed foreign benchmarks, in a way that promises Yemen’s security and stability, and realizes the aspirations of its other peoples for security, stability and development.

“The two sides expressed interest in joint action and coordination for regional security and promote cooperation to protect freedom of navigation and foreign trade, fight terrorism and its financing, and fight extremist ideology.

“His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, for his generous hospitality and warm welcome, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity under His Majesty’s wise leadership.
