Echoing President Trump’s common statement that his reaction to the coronavirus pandemic has been largely effective, White House senior adviser Jared Kushner said Monday that the death toll in the United States from the virus had been a success and that Trump management officials had “ done our best. ”
“170,000 Americans died, I recommend it was a success?”, asked CNN host Wolf Blitzer, referring to Kushner’s characterization of Trump’s reaction in April, to which Kushner replied, “yes.”
Kushner admitted that there were “many challenges” and that, in the first phase of the virus, “we didn’t know what to expect,” however, he argued that the administration had done the most productive task it could do.
“We did our best. The jurisprudence rate has been drastically reduced,” Kushner added, predicting that the United States “will come out of this much more powerful than ever.”
Kushner said the U.S. is lately in the “middle phase” of the epidemic, and said that “we are all the wisdom we have lately to strategically address how we can be informed of what we have and protect vulnerable people.”
The comments are the newest in a long narrative, with Trump and his surrogates cultivating that the 170,000 dead so far are well below expectations.
Trump told Axios reporter Jonathan Swan this month that the virus is “below as much as he can,” and then said, “No one can do what I did, in terms of everything we’re doing to combat this terrible disease.””

Kushner also defended the president in the interview through the allegations through former Homeland Security cabinet chief Miles Taylor that Trump acted above the law and tried to deny assistance to Californians who opposed wildfires because they were Democrats.”Miles was a great kid, he worked here for a few years.But it makes a lot of sense to me that he approves of Joe Biden,” Kushner said, arguing that during Miles’ tenure at DHS,” no walls were built and the border was wide open.”Obviously he wasn’t up to it.”
