TOKYO – Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga is preparing to meet with U. S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Tokyo earlier next month, the first high-level assembly between the two allies since Suga leader this week, STATE broadcaster NHK reported Saturday.
Pompeo is expected to go to the Japanese capital to talk to foreign ministers in Japan, Australia and India, said NHK, who deserve to talk about cooperation in the COVID-19 pandemic and what they call an open and loose Indo-Pacific region.
Suga is expected to speak to U. S. President Donald Trump by phone on Sunday, Japanese media reported Friday.
