The number of foreign visitors to Japan topped 100,000 for the fifth straight month in August following a flurry of border controls, government data showed on Wednesday, and that figure is likely to continue to emerge as Japan seeks to lift the access limit.
Foreign arrivals totaled 169,800 last month, 6. 6 times more than in August 2021, down 93. 3% from the same month the year before the 2019 pandemic, according to the Japan National Tourism Organization.
