Japan to aim to spend more than five trillion yen through foreign visitors

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will announce the goal of increasing annual spending through foreign visitors to Japan to more than five trillion yen ($34. 66 billion) in his speech at an ordinary parliamentary consultation on Monday, government resources said.

Kishida will promote his government’s plan to ease the country’s COVID-19 border controls, adding to allow individual foreign travelers to enter Japan, on Oct. 11.
