In a 30-second video on Instagram, a woman made several erroneous statements related to Japan’s reaction to the pandemic and its use of the Moderna vaccine.
The title: “Japan Says Goodbye Moderna, Hello Ivermectin. “
“Just a few days ago, the president of the Tokyo Medical Association advised hospitals and doctors to avoid Moderna and start prescribing ivermectin to all COVID patients,” he says.
She cites “tremendous results” in India, Mexico, Argentina and parts of Bangladesh as evidence of ivermectin’s effectiveness.
“Honestly, I guess the steel contaminants they discovered in a lot of bottles had something to do with that as well,” he says at the end of the video.
This view is in line with similar claims about Japan’s alleged transfer of ivermectin on the Internet. The antiparasitic has gained popularity in recent months, specifically in the US. The U. S. health care industry has used COVID-19 vaccines as an option, though U. S. fitness agencies have not. They approved ivermectin as a remedy for the coronavirus and have warned against its misuse.

Although Tokyo Medical Association President Haruo Ozaki recommends the use of ivermectin in COVID-19 patients, neither he nor the organization has any relationship with the Japanese government.
The organization is similar to the American Medical Association in the United States. It can make suggestions while also enacting government policies, according to its parent organization, the Japan Medical Association.
Ivermectin is indexed by the Japanese government as an approved drug to treat COVID-19.
Moderna, on the other hand, remains an approved vaccine in Japan, along with Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
While studies have been conducted on the use of ivermectin to treat COVID-19 patients, they are a cry of the “excellent results” cited in the Instagram video.
PolitiFact has found in the past that many studies lack clinical basis. The studies used small pattern sizes and, in one case, had a clear clash of interests: the researchers were connected to an organization that was pushing for ivermectin to be used as a treatment. .
While at least three men in Japan died several days after receiving a dose of the Moderna vaccine, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has discovered a link between the vaccines and the deaths.
The country’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection had to recall more than 1. 6 million vaccine doses in late August after several vials infected with black particles were discovered.
According to the BBC, more than 3,700 people have been vaccinated with infected vials, but none have reported health problems, according to the BBC. The three men’s vaccines did not come from infected vials and their deaths are still under investigation, the Japan Times reported.
An Instagram user claimed that Japan had abandoned the use of the Moderna vaccine in favor of ivermectin to treat the coronavirus after two other people died after receiving the vaccines.
The pro-Japanese agreement recommending ivermectin as a remedy for COVID-19 does not have the strength to implement policy adjustments for the country.
There is also no conclusive link linking the Moderna vaccine to the deaths of 3 Japanese people. While more than 1. 6 million doses of the Moderna vaccine have been recalled due to contamination concerns, Japan continues to administer shots of the Moderna vaccine.
We believe that the claim that Japan has said “goodbye Moderna, hello ivermectin” is largely false.
