TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s government spokesman on Thursday called for increased vigilance against COVID-19 infections, as the nation’s capital Tokyo reported 31,878 cases of infections, surpassing the 30,000 mark for the first time.
“Across the country, new infections have reached the point never recorded,” Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told a regular news conference.
“We want to closely monitor the infection scenario in the future, adding the factor of medical services, with maximum vigilance. “
