SYDNEY (Reuters) – Japan Airlines Co Ltd (JAL) is operating at 65% of its capacity overseas ahead of the coronavirus pandemic, with COVID-19 restrictions restricting calls to around 40% of pre-pandemic levels, an airline executive said on Tuesday. .

In the domestic market, the airline operates at one hundred percent of its pre-pandemic capacity, demand is around 80 percent of the corresponding levels, said Akihide Yoguchi, JAL’s vice president of strategic studies for the Asia-Oceania region.

“Domestic demand has recovered faster than international demand, like many markets,” he told a CAPA Center for Aviation conference.
