I would still like to know what those big increases look like in a country where almost everyone wears masks, which are meant to be so effective in preventing the spread of the virus.
Shouldn’t those spikes in COVID cases, which have been going back and forth for almost 3 years, with the vast majority of other people wearing masks all the time, telling us the mask works?
And in all the photographs on the web or on TV that I have seen of other Japanese, the prime minister visiting Australia, the foreign minister in Germany at the G7 and many others, they are NOT dressed in masks.
But in Japan, they do. Obviously it’s just theater. These are just appearances.
It is time for Japan to do the same.
@ Hakman. No it is mandatory to wear a mask. The only position I use one in now (and only at rush hour) is on the subway. Useless statements like yours will not reposition the Japanese mentality. especially this winter.
